Landlord of the Month
June 2025
At The Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund, we believe in honoring those whose work not only provides stable housing but also uplifts entire communities. This June, we are proud to recognize Rev. Charles Carter as our Landlord of the Month—a title well-earned through his unwavering commitment to service, community leadership, and advocacy for housing as a human right.Rev. Carter’s journey is deeply rooted in the community he serves. As a Reverend and mentor to Chicago’s youth, he has long been a beacon of hope and guidance. His influence extends beyond the walls of the homes he provides; it is found in the prayers that open and close our Annual Meetings, and in the countless young lives he inspires through mentorship and outreach. His role is not merely that of a landlord—he is a true partner in building stronger, more vibrant neighborhoods. In his own words:“I am incredibly honored to be named the Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund Landlord of the Month for June. This recognition reflects the shared commitment we hold to ensuring stable, dignified, and affordable housing for residents across our city. It reaffirms the importance of the mission we strive to uphold every day—to ensure housing stability, dignity, and opportunity for every resident we serve.”Rev. Carter’s work is grounded in the belief that housing is about people, not just buildings. Through consistent outreach and collaboration, he has built genuine relationships with tenants, connecting them to vital resources and fostering environments where individuals and families feel seen, respected, and supported. He understands that the foundation for a better future begins with housing stability, dignity, and a sense of belonging.“By building relationships with residents, we hear their stories—testimonies that help foster environments where families and individuals feel acknowledged and supported,” Rev. Carter shared. His philosophy is simple yet profound: Housing is a human right. Long-term stability, he believes, starts with access, respect, and an unwavering commitment to community support. His work stands as a testament to the power of compassionate leadership and dedicated service.“To the residents and The Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund, thank you. Your resilience and voice continue to inspire and guide my efforts. Your presence in our communities makes them stronger, richer, and more vibrant.”We are grateful to Rev. Carter for his leadership, compassion, and tireless dedication to uplifting our communities. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
